The year 2013 began as an unsettling year to Jessica Lucas. In April, after a few months of costarring in Cult (which premiered February 19 2013, 2013) it was cancelled. The remaining 13-week episodes of the series were aired by CW later in the year. But being in a show that had to be cancelled before the premiere isn't an ideal situation. On the upside, her film career appeared to be growing by increments. In That Awkward Time, which was released in the beginning of 2014, Jessica Lucas played the lawyer and wife of American actor Michael B. Jordan. He is in a relationship with her husband, and is definitely the upper hand in their marriage. Lucas does well in each scene, despite the fact that the film is mostly an intimate story about a couple. Lucas also shines in her brief appearances in Paul W.S. Anderson period action-adventure film Pompeii. Shenae grimes AnnaLynne McCord & Jessica Stroup collaborated with her on four episodes of the rebooted 90210. She joined the cast of what became a highly profitable reboot of the wildly popular 1990s TV show Melrose Place playing a wholesome elementary-school educator Riley Richmond.
