Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American TV chef and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef is a hit with her signature hairstyle and her pumped up personality, provides the basics of cooking that anybody can learn. Chef Burrell was employed for a time in New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary tradition and its landscape. Also, she was a contestant on Iron Chef America on Food Network. As a child in the upstate of New York, Chef Burrell was captivated by food and cooking in her early years. Her passion was for working in the restaurant business by enrolment at The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a wonderful learning experience for me. I couldn't seem to get enough enjoyment from the experience. After graduating Chef Burrell resided in Italy for one year attending an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Also, she was employed at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin starred restaurant) in Tuscany. In Italy she developed an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian food. It made a huge impact on how she views food. Burrell was an Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board members, which strives to increase the quality of life for children facing challenges. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation (JDRF) celebrity ambassador and advocates awareness of childhood diabetes. In her capacity as a guest speaker and mentor, she travels around the US to talk about her love for cooking and profession. Anne always felt fortunate that she could share the passion of her life, cooking with others.
